Balazs Juhasz and Brandon Kennedy are Awarded for Outstanding Academics

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Monday that 130 Division II Men's Basketball Student-Athletes have been named 2014-15 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

Brandon Kennedy and Balazs Juhasz are two senior, student athletes who have had a stellar performance not only on the court but in the classroom as well. With class, respect and dedication these two gentlemen represented the University of Michigan Dearborn as well as the Men's Basketball program.

Juhasz, a 6 ' 7" senior forward from Grosse Pointe, MI entered into 23 different games during the 2014-2015 season. In those 23 games Balazs had scored 33 points, shooting nearly 50% from the field. Juhasz also contributed 11 assists, 26 rebounds and 2 steals to help guide his team to success.

Kennedy, a 5' 11" senior guard from Garden City, MI joined the basketball team late due to studying for the MCAT. Brandon played for the Wolverines since he was a freshman but chose to take his senior year off because he wanted to dedicate his time to studying for the MCAT. The Wolverines encountered injuries throughout the season resulting in a roster decrease. Kennedy knocked the dust off his shoes and laced them up to join the Wolverines in the last part of their season. Brandon entered into 7 games and generated 13 points to end his career as a Wolverine.

Congratulations and Best of Luck!

Go BLUE!
