GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The 2017 University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer season came to a close with a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup against Cornerstone University Friday in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Down 2-0 in the second half, the Wolverines found a goal late, but the Golden Eagles hung on for the 2-1 win. The loss closes the UM-Dearborn season with a record of 5-11 overall and 2-9 in the WHAC.
James Pipe got the Golden Eagles on the board in the 25th minute, scoring on a cross that landed in the box and was eventually put in the back of the net. Pipe extended the Cornerstone lead to 2-0 with another unassisted tally in the 64th minute.
UM-Dearborn continued to battle and found a goal in the 87th minute from senior Brody Hall (SR/Corunna, MI) to cut the deficit in half.
The Wolverines finished with eight shots, six on goal, compared to 20 shots and seven on goal from Cornerstone.
UM-Dearborn goalkeeper Dylon DaSilva (JR/Canton, MI) made five saves in the loss.
The game was the last for UM-Dearborn seniors Ali Anani (SR/Dearborn Heights, MI), Jeffrey Drzyzga (SR/Grosse Ile, MI) and Brody Hall.
