EARLY GOAL STANDS UP FOR SAINTS AGAINST WOLVERINES
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team started a six-game road swing with a nonconference meeting at Holy Cross College Tuesday in Notre Dame, Ind.

After an early goal for the Saints, the two teams tightened defensively, with offensive chances limited on both sides. The Wolverines did not find an equalizer, falling to HCC 1-0, dropping the team to 1-1 overall on the early season.
After scoring a hat trick in his Wolverine debut on Aug. 19, freshman Ali Khcheiche (FR/Dearborn Heights, MI) led UM-Dearborn with two shots total, while Mike Smith (SO/Southgate, MI) and Mark Dawson(JR/Frisco, TX) registered the lone shots on goal in the loss. Dylon DaSilva (JR/Canton, MI) (1-1) made a pair of saves in net for the Wolverines.
The game's lone goal came in the fourth minute from HCC's Callum Beaver on a feed from Steven Saucedo. The Saints outshot the Wolverines 12-8.
UM-Dearborn continues nonconference play against Adrian College at 1 p.m. Sept. 9 in Adrian, Mich.
