
CLEARY TOPS MEN'S SOCCER 3-0 IN HOWELL
HOWELL, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team played its final nonconference game before the start of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference season, taking on Cleary University Friday in Howell, Mich.

The Wolverines and Cougars played a tight first half, but a penalty kick got Cleary on the board first. Two more Cougar goals in the second half brought the result to 3-0 in favor of Cleary. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 3-2 on the season.
The Wolverines were outshot 25-6, while Cleary took eight corner kicks to zero for UM-Dearborn. Junior goalkeeper Dylon DaSilva (JR/Canton, MI) kept the Wolverines close, making 12 saves in the loss. DaSilva is now 2-2 on the season.
Scott Dunford (JR/Coventry, England) and Tanner Wallace (FR/Riverview, MI) each registered a shot on goal for the Wolverines.
Cleary opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a penalty kick goal from Hector Aguirre. Johnny Cabral made it 2-0 in the 49th minute, while Logan Bush added a goal in the 73rd.
The Wolverines open WHAC play against rival Marygrove College in the final regular-season contest between the two institutions. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 in Detroit.
