UM-Dearborn Golf competes at Cleary Invitational

HOWELL, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn golf teams were in action at the Cleary Invitational Tuesday at Chemung Hills Golf Course in Howell, Mich.

The event was the first in program history for the UM-Dearborn women, as the Wolverines finished sixth out of seven teams, with one team not recording a score. The UM-Dearborn men, who were competing for the second time this season, finished fifth out of six teams, with one team not recording a score.

The Wolverine women were led by Sofia Cueva with a score of 90, while Adeline Lau was next for UM-Dearborn with a 96. Tessa LaBurn shot a 108, while Averey Potter finished with a 110.

Nick Metaxas led the UM-Dearborn men with a team-best 75, the best single-round score this season for the program. The round put Metaxas in a tie for third on the individual leaderboard.

Ryan Gniewek shot an 81 for the Wolverines, followed by Logan Willoughby with an 83 and Nicholas Cooper with a 90. Nolan Steele's 94 and Alex Braid's 101 rounded out the day for the Wolverine men.

The teams are back in action at the Blue Devil Invitational starting Sunday at TreeTops in Gaylord, Mich.
