Wolverine men place 10th in first WHAC Jamboree

BATH, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's golf team closed its first event as a varsity sponsored program at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamboree No. 1 Saturday at Timber Ridge Golf Course in Bath, Mich.

The Wolverines entered the second and final round in a tie for ninth place after a 339 on Friday. UM-Dearborn scored a 346 in round two and closed the event in 10th place.

Nick Metaxas led the Wolverines with a team-best round of 78 on Friday, followed by an 86 on Saturday to finish in a tie for 23rd individually with a two-round score of 164.

Logan Willoughby was second for UM-Dearborn and tied for 28th with a two-day score of 168 (83,85), followed by Ryan Gniewek in a tie for 31st with a 170 (84, 86). Nolan Steele was 48th and Mike Mercier was 49th.

The Wolverines return to action at the Cleary Invitational on Tuesday at Chemung Hills Golf Course in Howell, Mich.
