WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The 2018 spring schedule for the University of Michigan-Dearborn baseball team began with a doubleheader against Point Park University at the RussMatt Invitational Sunday in Winter Haven, Fla.
The Wolverines fell 14-1 in the opener and 18-1 in the finale, dropping to 0-11 on the season.
Both UM-Dearborn RBIs on the day came off the bat of Andrew Capone (FR/Warren, MI). He drove in Cole VanWagoner (SO/Mancelona, MI) with an RBI single in the first game, while adding a triple to score Jacob Leija (FR/Southgate, MI) in game two.
Capone finished 2-for-4 with a triple in both games. Waymond Lemon Jr. (JR/Detroit, MI) added two hits in game one.
The Wolverines look to break through with two more games, starting against Judson University at 1 pm, followed by a rematch with Point Park at 4 pm Monday in Winter Haven.
