WHAC match at Cleary ends in 1-1 tie for UM-Dearborn

HOWELL, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's soccer team continued Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play against league newcomer Cleary University Saturday at Page Field in Howell, Mich.

The Wolverines took the lead in the 68th minute, but the tying goal came from Cleary less than two minutes later. The teams battled through two overtime periods as the game ended in a 1-1 tie. The result moves UM-Dearborn to 1-3-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the WHAC.

Nicole Losek scored the lone goal for the Wolverines off a free-kick pass from Jenna Rogers. Harley Gorzelski tied the game with a goal on a rebound for Cleary.

Losek finished with a team-high four shots, while Kirsten Burek and Margaret Miller each added two. Jordan Anheuser made 11 saves, as the Cougars outshot the Wolverines 24-11.

UM-Dearborn returns home to take on Siena Heights University at 7 pm Wednesday at Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Mich.
