Women's Soccer opens 2018 at Grace

WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's soccer team opened the 2018 season with a nonconference matchup against Grace College Wednesday in Winona Lake, Ind.

The Wolverines attempted to withstand an offensive barrage from the Lancers, but Grace put up two goals in the first half and two in the second to take a 4-0 decision, dropping UM-Dearborn to 0-1-0 to start the year.

Jordan Anheuser picked up right where she left last year, standing tall in the net, keeping the Wolverines in the contest. The sophomore goalkeeper made 14 saves, including 10 in the first half. Jenna Rogers led the offense with two shots and one on net.

Corinne Villalobos scored all four goals for the Lancers, with two assists coming from Baylei Peters.

The Wolverines were outshot 38-3, while Grace led the corner kicks 10-0.

UM-Dearborn opens the home portion of the 2018 schedule against the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) at 2 pm Saturday at Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Mich.
