WHAC match at Cleary ends in 1-1 tie for UM-Dearborn

HOWELL, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's soccer team continued Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play against league newcomer Cleary University Saturday at Page Field in Howell, Mich.

The Wolverines took the lead in the 68^th minute, but the tying goal came from Cleary less than two minutes later. The teams battled through two overtime periods as the game ended in a 1-1 tie. The result moves UM-Dearborn to 1-3-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the WHAC.

Nicole Losek scored the lone goal for the Wolverines off a free-kick pass from Jenna Rogers. Harley Gorzelski tied the game with a goal on a rebound for Cleary.

Losek finished with a team-high four shots, while Kirsten Burek and Margaret Miller each added two. Jordan Anheuser made 11 saves, as the Cougars outshot the Wolverines 24-11.

UM-Dearborn returns home to take on Siena Heights University at 7 pm Wednesday at Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Mich.
