Warriors escape with 1-0 win over Wolverines

RIVERVIEW, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's soccer team fell to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference foe Rochester College in the team's final home game of the 2018 season Wednesday at Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Mich.

The Wolverines dominated play from the start, but could not find a way to beat Rochester goalkeeper Cali Clemens, who made 10 saves, as the Warriors escaped with a 1-0 win. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 1-10-2 overall and 1-8-1 in the WHAC.

UM-Dearborn had opportunities throughout the game with five different Wolverines taking five shots, including Marley Kuzner, Valeria Cossyleon, Jenna Rogers, Nicole Losek and Breana Pheiffer.

The Wolverine's best chance came in the first half when Claire Slamka drove a header on frame off a corner kick that was saved by Clemens.

UM-Dearborn outshot Rochester 29-8 as Jordan Anheuser made two saves for the Wolverines in net.

UM-Dearborn closes the 2018 season against Indiana Tech at 3 pm Saturday in Fort Wayne, Ind.
