Anheuser makes 14 saves in loss at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's soccer team played its first official contest since Sept. 1, traveling to Adrian College Saturday in Adrian, Mich. The last contest for the Wolverines against Goshen College on Sept. 5 was abandoned due to weather.

The Bulldogs, an NCAA Division III program, scored two in the first half and pulled away in the second half for the 5-0 win over the Wolverines, who fall to 0-2-1 on the season.

UM-Dearborn was held in the contest by sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Anheuser, who made 14 saves, recording her third consecutive double-digit save total to start the season. Junior Jenna Rogers recorded two shots, with one on goal for the Wolverines.

Adrian had four different goal scorers, including two from Mckenna Mahoney in the first half. Adrian outshot UM-Dearborn 36-2 in the contest.

The Wolverines return home to open the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference season at noon Saturday at Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Mich.
