Wolverines Outlast Siena Heights 1-0

ADRIAN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team improved to 2-0-0 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday (Sept. 21) as they outlasted Siena Heights 1-0. Andrew Schwartz provided the lone goal for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines had possession in the Saints defensive third for most of the game. UM-Dearborn had seven corner kicks compared to just one for the Saints. However, goals were challenging to come by. Yuriy Tukalevskyy made six saves for the Saints, but despite his efforts, the Wolverines broke the scoreless tie in the 82nd minute when Schwartz delivered the crucial blow to SHU's hopes. Nicolas Pulcini assisted the Schwartz goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Jack Rogers started in net, making three saves and playing all 90 minutes for the Wolverines. The win marks the first shutout of the season for Rogers.
