UM-Dearborn rolls to 85-75 win over UNOH

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team started both halves on a run to roll to a third straight league win to open the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference season, topping the University of Northwestern Ohio Tuesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

The Wolverines opened the game on a 19-4 run with pressure defense and transition scoring. After the Racers closed the gap to 37-33 at the break, UM-Dearborn outscored UNOH 32-14 in the third, pulling away for an 85-75 victory. The win pushes UM-Dearborn to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the WHAC.

Reigning WHAC Player of the Week Sade Lemons led the UM-Dearborn offense with 19 points, including five 3-pointers, while adding four rebounds. Lemons was named the WHAC Player of the Week for the first time in her career on Monday.

Junior Jeorgia Jones finished with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting while adding six rebounds. Senior Charity Godbold came off the bench to add 14 points, while sophomore Ro'Zhane Wells recorded nine points, four steals, and a team-high 11 assists.

The Wolverines shot 31-of-67 from the field, 10-of-23 from deep and 13-of-20 from the line, while finishing with 26 assists, 16 steals and 20 turnovers. UM-Dearborn won the rebounding battle 39-35 and forced 22 turnovers.

The Racers were led by Emily Patton with 28 points and six rebounds.

UM-Dearborn steps out of conference to take on Grace Christian University at 5:30 pm Wednesday in Grand Rapids, Mich.
