Titans rally to top Wolverines 64-63

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team fell for the first time this season, dropping a tight contest to Indiana University-South Bend Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

The Wolverines led for most of the contest, but the Titans battled back to take their first lead of the game with 6:47 to play in the fourth. UM-Dearborn sophomore Cydney Williams hit three 3-pointers in the fourth, but it was not enough as IU-South Bend escaped with a 64-63 win.

The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 4-1 this season and snaps a seven-game win streak dating back to 2017-18.

All five UM-Dearborn starters finished in double figures led by 12 points and six assists from sophomore Ro'Zhane Wells. Junior Jeorgia Jones added 12 points, while Williams picked up a double-double with 11 points and a team-high 14 rebounds. Sophomore Lauryn Carroll and junior Sade Lemons each recorded 10 points in the loss.

The Wolverines shot 26-of-77 from the field, 7-of-32 from deep and 4-of-12 from the line, while finishing with 23 assists and nine turnovers.

The Titans were led by Kyleigh Kubik with a game-high 19 points, including five 3-pointers. IU-South Bend won the rebounding battle 44-42.

The Wolverines open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play against Siena Heights University at 6 pm Wednesday in Adrian, Mich.
