Wolverines cruise to 85-55 win over Ohio Christian

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team continued its hot start to the 2018-19 season, earning a second-straight win at the Lawrence Tech Classic, topping Ohio Christian University Saturday in Southfield, Mich.

The Wolverines jumped out in front with a 24-8 first quarter and led by 17 at the break on their way to an 85-55 win over the Trailblazers. The win is the fifth straight for UM-Dearborn dating back to last season and moves the team to 2-0 to start the season.

Chloe Godbold scored a career-high 14 points in the win, hitting a pair of 3-pointers and grabbing five rebounds. Lauryn Carroll added 12 points off the bench in her second game with the Wolverines, while Sade Lemons finished with 11 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.

Cydney Williams has been strong through two games, recording nine points and 12 rebounds in just 14 minutes of action for UM-Dearborn.

The Wolverines shot 31-of-72 from the field, 9-of-28 from deep and 14-of-23 from the line, while finishing with 18 assists and 22 turnovers.

The Trailblazers were led by Helaina Limas with a game-high 18 points, while Staci Dinsmore added 12 points and nine rebounds.

The Wolverines play their home opener against Wright State University-Lake Campus at 7 pm Friday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
