Callison and Seibert Qualify for NAIA National Championships

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn cross country team has had only four individuals reach the NAIA Cross Country National Championships in the team's existence. That changed on Tuesday (Nov. 7) as two more individuals were named qualifiers for the NAIA Cross Country National Championships. Kylie Callison and Joe Seibert received qualification as individuals after their performances at the WHAC Championships.

The race will occur at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Championship Course on Friday, November 17th, in Vancouver, Washington. The women's race will begin at 10:30 am PST, while the men's race will begin at 11:30 PST.

Callison, a senior from Livonia, Mich., qualified for the meet after taking fifth overall in the women's 6k race. Callison ran a final time of 23:23.6 to secure her spot in Vancouver. Callison joins the likes of Joan Stoain (2011) and Julia Kassem (2013) as only the third female to qualify as an individual at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships and the first since 2013.

Seibert, a junior from Livonia, Mich., finished seventh overall at the meet after gaining two places in the final split to finish with a final time of 25:40.9. Seibert led the Wolverines all year paving the way to the individual qualification for any Wolverine since Ryan Exell did it in 2018 and 2019.
