Warriors (RV) top Wolverines in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team played its final road game of the 2018 regular season, traveling to Indiana Tech for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest Saturday in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The Wolverines were kept off the scoresheet and fell to the Warriors (RV) 4-0. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 5-9-2 and 2-7-1 in the WHAC.

With one game left to play on the schedule, the Wolverines are in a congestion of four teams battling for the final spot in the WHAC Postseason Tournament. UM-Dearborn will need a result against Concordia University on Tuesday to have a chance at a spot in the tournament.

Indiana Tech scored in the second minute and added another late in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into the break. Two goals in less than four minutes midway through the second half put the game away for the Warriors.

Stephen Mezuk made six saves in net for the Wolverines, who were outshot 19-5.

The Wolverines host Concordia in a makeup game at 7 pm Tuesday at Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Mich.
