Three Individuals Receive All-Conference Awards At WHAC Championships

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn Cross Country teams wrapped up their seasons on Friday (Nov. 3) at the WHAC Championships, hosted by Aquinas. The Wolverines finished fourth on the women's side and seventh on the men's. UM-Dearborn saw three individuals walk away with All-Conference awards as Kyle Callison and Joe Seibert received First Team All-Conference. Samantha Turner received Second Team recognition. 

In the women's 6k race, Kylie Callison took home fifth place overall after crossing the finish line in 23:23.6. Samantha Turner's time of 24:07.6 gave her 14th overall. Mikayla Borg ran 24:35.4 in her final race in the Maize & Blue, placing 25th. Lauryn Hoover raced across the line in 25:06.8 to take home 32nd. Kaitlyn Bourque rounded out the Wolverine top 5 with a 38th-place finish and a time of 25:19.0.

In the men's race, Joe Seibert jumped up two spots in his final split to give him seventh place overall and a final time of 25:40.9. Brett Leidal had a strong 5k as he was in 13th place. However, Leidal fell off towards the end, claiming 21st with a final time of 26:10.5. Isaac Tiernan took 55th with a time of 28:11.2. Brendan Buckner and Anderson Gattis rounded out the Wolverine top-5 with 58th and 62nd place finish.
