Dow takes over and will begin work on building her roster for the start of varsity women's soccer at UM-Dearborn. The Wolverines begin play in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference and the NAIA during the 2017-18 academic year.

"We are excited to welcome Danielle Dow, the first varsity women's soccer head coach to UM-Dearborn," UM-Dearborn Director of Athletics & Recreation Matt Beaudry said. "The addition of women's soccer will increase sport opportunities at UM-Dearborn and we're very pleased to have Danielle's leadership qualities, accomplishments and experiences as a women's soccer student-athlete at Penn State University guiding our new program."

Dow concluded a standout career at Penn State University in 2011, helping lead the Nittany Lions to four consecutive Big Ten Conference championships. She was named to the Academic All-Big Ten list from 2007 to 2011 and was involved in the Athletic Director's Leadership Institute and Spiritus Leoninus in her time at PSU. Dow received several honors during her collegiate career, including the 2011 Penn State NAACP Jesse Owens Achievement in Sports Image Award.

While attending PSU, Dow worked with the soccer programs summer camps, helping develop the individual and team skills of girls of all ages. She graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing.

From 2002 to 2011, Dow was in the player pool for the United States Girl's National Team, where she attended training camps each year.

The Northville, Mich., native currently holds the position of digital marketing analyst with Bosch Automotive Service Solutions. Danielle and her husband Zach Dow currently reside in Detroit.

"I am so excited to take on the responsibility of starting the UM-Dearborn women's soccer program," Dow said. "This is a wonderful opportunity and I can't wait to start building a legacy with these young ladies."
