FULL GAME NOTES

DEARBORN, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team returns home after winning two of three on the road over the last two weeks. The Wolverines (RV) take on Lawrence Tech at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and welcome Marygrove College to the Fieldhouse at 3 p.m. Saturday. UM-Dearborn is looking to pick up the sweep against both teams after road wins earlier this season.

This Week's Schedule

2/1/17: Lawrence Tech at 7:30 P.M.

2/4/17: Marygrove at 3 P.M.

Team Update

UM-Dearborn dropped its lone game last week to a tough squad from Indiana Tech on the road. The Wolverines (RV) held a late lead over the No. 18 Warriors, but 37 points from Indiana Tech star Miles Robinson proved to be a bit too much as UM-Dearborn fell 89-84. The loss dropped the Wolverines to 10-6 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, as the team continues to battle for conference postseason position with six games left on the schedule. UM-Dearborn comes into play this week tied with the University of Northwestern Ohio for fourth place in the conference and two games back of No. 15 Davenport University. The top four teams host the first round of the WHAC postseason tournament. Junior forward Jason Penn (JR/Detroit, MI) enters Wednesday's game against Lawrence Tech just eight points shy of 1,000 for his career. Penn is set to become the first UM-Dearborn men's basketball player recruited by head coach Taylor Langley to reach the milestone.

Who's Hot

Senior guard Jeff Cain (SR/Lansing, MI ) has emerged since the holiday break with a new-found scoring touch for the Wolverines. He has recorded double figures in four of the last five games for UM-Dearborn, including a team-high 18 points against Indiana Tech. Cain hit a season-high four 3-pointers against the Warriors. He is averaging 7.7 points per game.

History

The Wolverines topped Lawrence Tech earlier this season in Southfield, 70-55. UM-Dearborn Split with LTU last season.
