Wolverine Hockey Sweeps WHAC Weekly Honors

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team swept the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference weekly honors on Monday (Nov. 6) as Joey Cullinan and Declan Flanagan both won player of the week awards. 

 

Cullinan, a senior from Allen Park, Mich., was phenomenal in their three games over the past week. Cullinan was named Offensive Player of the Week as he helped the Wolverines take down No. 7 Grand Valley State on Thursday (Nov. 2), burying the game-winning goal in a 5-4 overtime victory. In total, Cullinan tallied 11 points in three games, scoring five goals, including a four-goal game against Rochester on Saturday (Nov. 4). 

 

Flanagan was named Defensive Player of the Week after his nine-point week. The freshman blue-liner from Kanata, ON, CAN, scored three goals and dished out six assists, including two power plays goals in victories over Rochester. 

 

The No. 13 Wolverines take on No.10 Indiana Tech in a home-and-home series on Saturday (Nov. 11).
