Wolverines Have Strong Showing at Live in Lou Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Michigan cross country program had a strong showing at the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic on Saturday (Oct. 1).

 

The women's 5k showcased 356 runners from 52 different schools. Mikayla Borg was the top finisher for the Wolverines, as her time of 20:29.6 saw her finish in 76th place. Just 11 seconds behind her was Rebecca Bradsher, who crossed the line in 95th with a time of 20:41.3. Mary Bradshaw finished just outside of the top 100 with a time of 20:56. Lauryn Hoover and Chloe Jablonski rounded out the top-5 for the Maize & Blue finishing 139th and 156th respectively.

 

In the men's race, Ryan Exell finished the 8k in 21st out of 412 competitors. Exell finished the race in 26:00.7. Brett Leidal finished 47 seconds behind and just outside of the top 50 with a finishing time of 26:47.3. Sophomore Brendan Buckner had a strong race as he crossed the line in 27:28.5 and took home 129th place. Adam Haag was seven seconds behind Buckner in 139th place, and Gavin Llewellyn concluded the top-5 for Dearborn with a time of 28:24.3.
