DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn is excited to announce the hiring of Daniel Blacker as the UM-Dearborn Athletics Facility & Events Senior Manager.

Blacker most recently served as the UM-Dearborn Athletics Facility & Events Assistant Manager and as the interim senior manager for the past two months.

"We are really lucky to hire a person of Danny's quality and leadership," UM-Dearborn Director of Athletics & Recreation Matt Beaudry said. "He immediately makes us a better organization through his professionalism, knowledge, and passion for intercollegiate athletics and higher education. I look forward to his contributions making a lasting impact on UM-Dearborn Athletics."

After starting at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse in 2011 as a student worker, Blacker was promoted to his assistant role in 2018 and led the UM-Dearborn efforts in hosting the 2019 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Men's Ice Hockey Tournament and the recent Bernie Sanders Fox News Town Hall at the Fieldhouse.

Blacker will be responsible for organizing all events at UM-Dearborn athletic facilities, including intercollegiate games and external rentals while supervising the UM-Dearborn student-worker staff. He will also be responsible for maintaining numerous game day functions for the 16 Wolverine varsity teams.

Blacker currently resides in Livonia, Mich., with his fiancé Nicole Grates.
