Wolverines donate 3,100 items to Student Food Pantry

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn Department of Athletics & Recreation continued a tradition of giving recently with the annual department food drive to support the UM-Dearborn Student Food Pantry.

All Wolverine team participated and donated a total of 3,100 items, including 1,678 that were on the priority list from the Student Food Pantry. Leading all UM-Dearborn teams was the men's cross country team with 679 items, followed by women's soccer with 628.

Volleyball was third, followed by softball and women's ice hockey. The donation was made just prior to the Thanksgiving holiday break.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Council, made up of two representatives from each UM-Dearborn team, led the canned food drive. Congratulations to all Wolverines and thank you for your support of the Student Food Pantry.
