Wolverines lose early lead, Saints pull away for win

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.— The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team returned to action against the Aquinas College Saints Saturday afternoon in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The Wolverines would find themselves up as many as 16 in the first half, however the Saints would come back, closing out the opening 20 minutes with a 20-6 run. UM-Dearborn would make a comeback of their own and would retake the lead midway through the second half, however Aquinas College would use a late run to pull away from the Wolverines, handing them the 80-69 defeat.

Five Wolverines would reach double-digits in scoring with Troy Campbell leading the way with 16 points. Keegan Mott, Vyshonn Munson, Maurice Anderson, and Jimmy Breaux would all add 11 points of their own.

The Saints were led by Justin Lary with a game-high 26 points, while adding eight rebounds.

The loss drops the Wolverines to 3-21 overall and 1-13 in the WHAC.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against Detroit Mercy at 7 PM Monday night at Calihan Hall in Detroit, Mich.
