No. 21 Wolverines pull away in second half at LTU

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – In its first game since climbing to No. 21 in the nation, the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team traveled to Lawrence Tech for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest Saturday in Southfield, Mich.

The Blue Devils hung with the Wolverines throughout the first half, with UM-Dearborn leading by two at the break. The Wolverines tightened up on defense in the second half, outscoring LTU 35-21on the way to an 80-64 win.

The victory moves UM-Dearborn to 11-3 overall and 5-1 in the WHAC.

Jason Gigliotti led the Wolverines with 19 points and nine rebounds, narrowly missing a double-double. Zach Lattimer added 13 points, including three 3-pointers, while Cody Kegley finished with 12 points and five assists. Damian Forrest recorded 10 points and four rebounds off the bench.

The Wolverines shot 31-of-70 from the field, 11 of-21 from deep and 7-of-9 from the line. UM-Dearborn outrebounded LTU 42-37.

Jordan Henry led the Blue Devils with 21 points and six rebounds off the bench.

UM-Dearborn steps out of league play to travel to Ohio Christian University at 6 pm Thursday in Circleville, Ohio.
