Wolverines shut out Rochester on Senior Day, 3-0

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's soccer team took on the Rochester University Warriors on Senior Day in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest Wednesday night at Fordson High School in Dearborn, Mich.

Before the game, Seniors Kirsten Burek, Hannah Loveday, Margaret Miller, Claudia Maguire, and Jordan Anheuser were honored for their hardwork and dedication to the women's soccer program.

The Wolverines offense came out firing on all cylinders, sending 12 shots on goal in the first half. Gabriella Teems broke the scoreless tie in the 29th minute with an assist going to Katherine Costello, giving the Wolverines a one goal lead heading into halftime. UM-Dearborn kept the same pace in the second half, sending 14 more shot towards the Warrior goal. Melanie Skamiera put the Wolverines up two in the 58th minute with the assist going to Loveday. Maguire would close out the scoring in 83rd minute, firing a shot from distance that sent out this years senior class in winning fashion.

The win improves UM-Dearborn record to 1-2-0 overall and 1-2-0 in the WHAC.

Lisa Kohler got the start in goal for the Wolverines, making two saves. Amber Festian finished the last 12 minutes, while making two saves as well.

UM-Dearborn held the edge in shots, 26-8 and corner kicks, 4-2.
