Women's Golf closes WHAC season in 10th

NORTHVILLE, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's golf team competed in the third and final Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamboree of the season Thursday and Friday at Northville Hills Golf Club in Northville, Mich.

The conclusion of the two-day event saw the Wolverines place 10th out of 11 teams, finishing ahead of Concordia University. After day one, UM-Dearborn had an overall score of 412, however, they followed it up with a score of 406 on day two and a six-shot improvement.

The Wolverines close the WHAC season in 10th place after three events

Freshman Sophia Cueva was the top golfer for the Wolverines by posting an 86 in day one and an 87 in day two. Her overall score of 173 landed her in 13th place. Fellow freshman Adeline Lau had a strong showing as well. Lau posted an 87 in day one and an 88 on day two. Her combined score of 175 put her in a tie for 15th place in the event.

Freshman Averey Potter, who finished in 49th and sophomore Brooke Spiegel, who finished 52nd, rounded out the golfers for UM-Dearborn.

The Wolverines have concluded the fall portion of the season and will return to action in the spring.
