Wolverines finish 10th at second WHAC Jamboree

OAKLAND CHARTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's golf team competed in the second Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamboree of the season on Monday and Tuesday at Twin Lakes Golf Course in Oakland Charter Township, Mich.

The Wolverines finished 10th out 12 teams with one team not qualifying a score. The conclusion of day one saw UM-Dearborn post a score of 392, and the team improved by 16 strokes in round two with a 376.

Freshman Adeline Lau led the Wolverines with a strong showing in the two-day event, finding herself tied for 16th place after day one with a score of 83. Lau followed up on day two with a three-stroke improvement that helped her finished with a score of 80 at the end of day two and 13th overall.

Freshman Sophia Cueva also saw herself jump three spots in the standings after topping her day one score of 89 with an 86 in day two. Cueva's combined score of 175 landed her in a tie for 31st place. Freshman Averey Potter finished 52nd, while Tessa LaBurn and Brooke Spiegel were 54th and 55th, respectively.

The Wolverines return to action in the third WHAC Jamboree hosted by Lawrence Tech Oct. 10-11 at Northville Hills Golf Club in Northville, Mich.
