Women's golf concludes play at WHAC Jamboree No. 1

HOWELL, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's golf team competed in the first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamboree, the first conference event of the season and in program history, Friday and Saturday at Chemung Hills Golf Club in Howell, Mich.

The first round was suspended during the final holes on Friday and concluded Saturday morning prior to the start of round two.

UM-Dearborn finished 10th out 11 teams with one team not qualifying a score. The Wolverines finished with a two-round score of 826, improving in the second round by 30 strokes.

Freshman Sofia Cueva led the Wolverines in 21st place with a two-day score of 180 (92, 88) followed by fellow freshman Adaline Lau in a tie for 23rd with a score of 182 (92, 90). Freshman Averey Potter was tied for 46th, while Tessa LaBurn and Brooke Spiegel were 54th and 55th, respectively.

The Wolverines return to action in the second WHAC Jamboree on Monday and Tuesday at Twin Lakes Golf Course in Oakland Charter Township, Mich.
