Millhorn and Ellinger Take Home WHAC Softball Honors

DEARBORN, Mich. – Makenna Millhorn and Lanie Ellinger of the University of Michigan-Dearborn softball team were named in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference Postseason awards, the league announced on Wednesday (May 3).

 

Millhorn, a senior from Riverview, Mich., was awarded First Team All WHAC. The Wolverine first baseman leads the Wolverines in every offensive category hitting .411 with four home runs, 16 RBIs, and 22 runs scored. Millhorn carries an OBP of .500 and a slugging percentage of .607. In addition, Millhorn has a walk-to-strikeout ratio of 2:1 and holds a fielding percentage of .979. 

 

This is the second time Millhorn was given WHAC recognition after being named Second Team All WHAC and All-Defensive Team in 2022. 

 

Lanie Ellinger was named Second Team All WHAC. The two-way standout for the Wolverines hit .279 with a .326 OBP and a .430 SLG. The Troy, Mich. native hit two long balls and tallied 16 RBIs. In the circle, Lanie threw 113.2 innings and struck out 120 batters. Ellinger posted a career-best 7.39 K/7. Going into the WHAC Tournament, Ellinger has a 2.83 ERA, a 10-6 record with three saves and 10 complete games. 

 

This is also Ellinger's second appearance on the WHAC All-Conference Team, as she was named First Team All-WHAC and All-Defense Team during the 2022 season. 

 

Emmalyn Coon was named the teams champion of character.
