Barnett named to WHAC All-Newcomer Team

DEARBORN, Mich. – Freshman forward Jack Barnett has led the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team's offense this season, pushing the Wolverines to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament for the first time in six seasons.

For his performance this season, Barnett was named to the WHAC All-Newcomer Team, it was announced by the conference on Thursday.

Barnett leads the team with three goals, including the game-winner against Concordia University on Tuesday, which put the Wolverines in the WHAC Postseason Tournament. His six assists is also a team high and ranks third in the WHAC.

In addition, juniors Luke Baker, Grant Baker, and sophomore Deavyn Dishroon were named the WHAC All-Academic Team, while senior Mark Dawson earned WHAC Champions of Character Team honors.

The Wolverines open the WHAC Postseason Tournament as the No. 8 seed against No. 1 seed Madonna University at 2 pm Saturday in Livonia, Mich.
