Late push sends Madonna past Men's Soccer

LIVONIA, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team was in action against the Madonna University Crusaders in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup Saturday in Livonia, Mich.

After a scoreless first half, the Crusaders scored four goals in the second half to defeat the Wolverines 4-0. UM-Dearborn drops to 5-6-1 overall and 2-4 in the WHAC.

Madonna opened the scoring at the 50-minute mark after a misplayed ball by the Wolverines ended in the back of the net. A minute later, the Crusaders were awarded a penalty shot and capitalized to take a two-goal lead.

The Wolverines started Stephen Mezuk in goal, making three saves before Alex Siluk finished the game in relief. The Crusaders outshot UM-Dearborn 21-2.

The Wolverines return to action against Cornerstone University in a WHAC matchup at 4 pm Wednesday at Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Mich.
