GREENWOOD, Ind. – In conjunction with the College Sports Communicators, the University of Michigan-Dearborn softball team had five recipients named to the Academic All-District Team. Amber Cheplick, Makenna Millhorn, Olivia Scott, Sydni Uhlenberg, and Lanie Ellinger were the five recipients of the award.
To receive this award, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. In addition, the nominated student-athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed.
The Wolverine softball team not only saw great success in the classroom, but the team wrapped up the season with a 25-18 record and a 13-9 record in WHAC competition.
These five individuals will now advance to the Academic All-America Ballot, which will be announced in June.
