Softball Selected No. 1 in WHAC Preseason Poll

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn softball team was selected as the preseason favorite in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference 2023 Softball Preseason Poll. The league announced on Thursday (Nov. 3). This comes after a year of successes after the Wolverines claimed the 2022 WHAC Tournament Title and a bid into the NAIA Opening Round.

The Wolverines collected 135 points and six first-place votes in a poll selected by the 12 coaches in the conference.

The Wolverines return a potent attack led by First Team All-Conference recipients Lanie Ellinger and Shae Scott. Scott was the table setter for the Wolverines, bolstering a .368 AVG and .500 OBP.  Ellinger led the Wolverines with eight round-trippers and .617 SLG.
