Softball's Jordan Ewald Selected to Represent the United States at the FISU Forum

Michigan-Dearborn sophomore softball player Jordan Ewald was one of two NAIA student-athletes selected to represent the United States at the Federation for International University Sports (FISU) biennial education forum in Montpellier, France. Ewald will have the opportunity to interact with students and administrators from all over the world who are involved in university sports during the July 4-9 Forum. Students and university sports officials will have the opportunity to discuss subjects involving education, culture, and sport through the FISU Forum. Ewald was selected along with Zach Rockers, a basketball player from Columbia College of Missouri, to represent the United States at the Forum.

The 13th FISU Forum is expected to have 220 attendees from over 60 nations. The main focus will be "University and Sport: from the Origins towards the Future of University Sport." The main objective of the Forum is to offer the conditions for a meeting and exchange, associating culture and education with physical and sporting activities. The United States International University Sport Federation is sponsoring Ewald and Rockers to attend the Forum.

After her nomination made it past the first round, Ewald completed her phone interview with the committee last week and was selected on Monday, March 7th. Last season as a freshman, she batted .326 with 32 RBIs. In addition to her athletic achievements, Ewald maintains a high grade point average and is a member of the Emerging Leaders Council with the UM-Dearborn Department of Athletics and Recreation and is a member of the University's Emerging Leaders Institute.
