Saad Sits in Second After Day One of WHAC Championships

AUGUSTA, Mich. -- Mahmoud Saad of the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's golf team found himself sitting in second place after his first pass through Stoatin Brae Golf Course on day one of the WHAC Championships. Saad shot a 77 in his second round and is three shots off the lead.

As a team, the Wolverines concluded day one in ninth place. Saad was one under after his first nine holes starting birdie, par, birdie on the first three holes. After a bogey on four, Saad carded 12 consecutive pars before a bogey on 17 gave him an opening round 71. After a tricky front nine in his second round, Saad finished with a 36 (+1) on the back nine, birdieing two of his final four holes for a 77 in round two. 

Brandon Tirador is tied for 41st, shooting a 77 and an 87. Brenden Pultorak carded an 81 and an 88, while Trevor Hill rounded out the Wolverines scoring with a pair of 87s.
