This past weekend the Men's Lacrosse team played two teams out of Ohio here in the state of Michigan. Michigan broke even with the state of Ohio being defeated by Lourdes University 19-13 (Grey Wolves) on Saturday and then defeating The University of Toledo (Rockets) on Sunday 12-11 in overtime.
Game 1
Beverly Hills, MI- Saturday, March 28th the Wolverines hosted a home game against Lourdes University and finished with a 19-13 loss. After the first quarter the Wolverines held a 6-5 lead but the Grey Wolves didn't let that last long by scoring 4 and only giving up 1 goal in the second quarter. During the third quarter Michigan shot eight different times at the goal and ended up scoring on half of them.
As a team, Michigan Dearborn shot 28 times at the goal and scored on 13 of them. Michigan was led by Dylan Hatcher who scored 5 goals while Cabello contributed 3 goals and 3 assists.
Game 2
Beverly Hills, MI- Sunday, March 29th the Wolverines hosted their second home game of the weekend against The University of Toledo. The Wolverines fought through four quarters and a single overtime to send the Rockets home with an 11-12 loss. During the first, second, and fourth quarters, the Wolverines were able to generate 11 shots on goal. During the third quarter Michigan shut off cruise and really accelerated to generate 14 shots at the net. A minute and a half into overtime the Wolverines found a way to get the ball down the field and find the back of the net to secure the win.
The Wolverines were led by Matthew Rosteck with 5 goals while Ruben Cabello added 2 assists.
Michigan Dearborn will be traveling this Saturday, April 4th to compete against Oakland University. The game will begin at 1:00pm.
