Bilancetti named WHAC Bowler of the Week after AHIBC event

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's bowling team returned to action in two American Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference events over the weekend at Lebanon Lanes in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The Wolverines had a strong showing at the event and earned a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference weekly award, a first for UM-Dearborn bowling.

Mark Bilancetti led the Wolverine men on day two of the event, finishing third individually with 821 total pins and an average of 205.25. The team finished sixth on day two in a 14-team field with 6,523 pins and an average of 905.97.

For his efforts, Bilancetti was named the WHAC Men's Bowler of the Week for the first time in his career, it was announced Monday.

Aaron Stubbs was fifth individually for the men on day two for UM-Dearborn with 803 pins and a 203.75 average, while Stephen Strzalkowski was 36th with 701 pins.

Stubbs led the Wolverines on day one with a 24th-place showing, totaling 937 pins in five games. Strzalkowski was 47th with 870 pins as the team was 11th out of 15 teams.

The Wolverines compete at the final WHAC Jamboree hosted by Madonna University Saturday at Plaza Lanes in Plymouth, Mich.
