Siena Heights Three-Point Shooting Too Much for Women's Basketball

Dearborn, MI - The women's basketball team took the floor on Saturday afternoon to face the Siena Heights University Saints. Siena Heights (16-10, 10-8) had their outside shooting working early making four three-pointers in the first five minutes of the game. Michigan-Dearborn (1-24, 1-17) would not have the same success beyond the arc as the Wolverines went 2 for 22 for the game. The Wolverines relied on offensive rebounds in the first half as the team had seven offensive rebounds. The Saints shot 50% from the field in the first half and forced 12 turnovers as they took a 29-15 lead into halftime.

The third quarter saw both teams struggle shooting as the two teams combined to make just four baskets in the quarter. There were no points scored in the final 3:42 of the third quarter. The fourth quarter saw both teams make baskets as Siena Heights extended the lead to 15 points. Michigan-Dearborn was able to get the deficit down to 11 points, but the Saints proved to be too much in winning 47-30. Sophomore Marisa Sauve led the Wolverines with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Freshman Kendall Rose added 9 points. The women's basketball team will next host Madonna University on Wednesday at 5:30pm.
