CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – For the second consecutive season, the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's cross country team was represented at the NAIA National Championship, as freshman Ryan Exell made his nationals debut Friday.

The race was hosted by Mount Mercy University and was held at the Seminole Valley Cross Country Course in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Exell finished the 8k race in 200th place out of 335 runners from schools all across the NAIA. His time was 26 minutes, 26.1 seconds, as Exell closed out a tremendous first season with the Wolverines. He earned WHAC Newcomer of the Year and was named a WHAC Runner of the Week earlier this season. Exell set a new school record at the Jayhawk Invitational in October.

The team title was won by Oklahoma City University, while WHAC member Colin De Young took the individual national championship for Cornerstone University.
