Rochester edges Wolverines, 3-2

PONTIAC, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team fell to Rochester University 3-2 in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup Monday afternoon in Pontiac, Mich. 

The Warriors found themselves up two goals until the 57th minute when Mohamad Anani found the back of the net for the Wolverines, assisted by Jack Barnett. Rochester University took back the two goal lead in the 72nd minute when Dmitar Stankovic scored his second of the game. UM-Dearborn would quickly respond five minutes later to keep it close. However, the Warriors would hold on for the narrow victory.

The loss drops the Wolverines to 1-4-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the WHAC.

Austin Dukes got the start in goal for UM-Dearborn, making 3 saves. The Wolverines held the edge in shots, 11-10 and corner kicks, 5-2.

The Wolverines return to action against Lourdes University at 7pm Friday at Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Mich.
