UM-Dearborn Stumbles in Weekend Series

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn dropped a four-game series against the Madonna University Crusaders on Saturday and Sunday. UM-Dearborn strung together 12 hits in the final game including five with multi-hit games. 

Madonna's Payton Mazzola was a thorn in the Wolverines' side as he scored two runs, two hits, five RBIs, and a home run. He was followed by Nick Krol, who had two hits, a double, and three RBIs, and Pablo Rebollar, who had a hit, a double, and an RBI. Carson Collins pitched for eight innings for Madonna, giving up two runs on 11 hits. 

Matthew Balash led the Wolverines at the dish with a solo blast in the second inning to tie the game at 1-1. Balash finished 2-4 with the lone RBI. Lance Smith went 3-5 at the dish, while Max McLennan, Matthew Williams and Drake Schultz all had multi-hit games. Alvaro Hernandez threw 2.2 innings of scoreless relief for the Wolverines.
