
Wolverines Earn Historic Draw Against Aquinas, Securing First-Ever Result vs. Saints

DEARBORN, Mich. — History was made Wednesday night at Crestwood High School as the University of Michigan-Dearborn women's soccer team battled Aquinas College to a 1-1 draw, securing the program's first-ever result against the Saints.
In a match defined by resilience and strong defensive organization, the Wolverines weathered constant pressure from a high-powered Aquinas attack that recorded 30 shots on the night. UM-Dearborn goalkeeper Julia Tasker turned in a career performance, stopping 13 shots to keep her team within striking distance throughout the contest.
Aquinas broke through in the 61st minute when Reegyn Cady converted off a pass from Abigail Kramer, but the Wolverines wasted no time in their response. Less than 30 seconds later, Mallory Botten found the back of the net off an assist from Macy Burton, leveling the score at 1-1 and sending energy through the home crowd.
Despite continued pressure from the Saints, UM-Dearborn's back line held firm in the final 30 minutes to preserve the historic draw. The result moves the Wolverines to 2-8-3 overall and 1-3-2 in WHAC play, marking another step forward in a season defined by growth and competitive progress.
