DEARBORN, Mich. - For three quarters, the University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team controlled Concordia University in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

The Cardinals, who are receiving votes in the latest NAIA Division II Coaches' Poll, stormed back in the fourth, outscoring the Wolverines 28-10, escaping with a 64-59 win. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 4-11 overall and 0-8 in the WHAC.

Concordia was held to just three points in the third quarter by a stifling UM-Dearborn defense, as the home team led by 13 heading into the final frame. The Cardinals turned up the defensive pressure and forced nine Wolverine turnovers in the final 10 minutes, aiding the Concordia comeback.

Sade Lemons (SO/Sterling Heights, MI) led the Wolverines with 15 points, 10 coming in the opening minutes of the game. She added five rebounds and three assists. Megan Swick (SR/Grosse Ile, Mich.) came off the bench to add 11 points, including three 3-pointers, while grabbing five rebounds. Jeorgia Jones (SO/Detroit, MI) finished with 11 points and four rebounds.

Meredith Williams (SR/Novi, Mich.) was the leader on defense for the Wolverines, coming away with five steals, while adding a team-high seven assists. Emily Heinrich (JR/South Lyon, MI) chipped in with nine points and three rebounds.

The Wolverines shot 23-of-55 from the field, 7-of-25 from deep and 6-of-11 at the line.

Concordia was led by Kari Borowiak with 27 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter. The Cardinals narrowly won the rebounding battle 32-31.

The Wolverines hit the road for an exhibition against NCAA Division I foe Oakland University at 1 pm Sunday at the O'rena in Rochester, Mich.
