Wolverines push win streak to three

LANSING, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team won its third straight game for the first time since 2012-13, topping Great Lakes Christian College Saturday in Lansing, Mich.

The Wolverines controlled the boards and forced 23 Laker turnovers on their way to a 69-51 victory. The win moves UM-Dearborn 4-3 overall, the program's best record after seven games since 2008-09 when the Wolverines opened the season 10-0.

Sophomore Sade Lemons (SO/Sterling Heights, MI) continues to shine in her first season with the Wolverines. She finished with a team-high 17 points, including four 3-pointers, while adding six rebounds.

Junior Kendall Rose (JR/Canton, MI) got the start for the Wolverines, recording 15 points, three 3-pointers and seven rebounds, while senior Megan Swick (SR/Grosse Ile, Mich.) added 14 points, five rebounds and two steals. Junior Natalie Spala (JR/Livonia, MI) came off the bench to score nine points, while senior Meredith Williams (SR/Novi, Mich.) controlled the game on both ends of the court with 10 assists, six steals and zero turnovers. Sophomore Jeorgia Jones (SO/Detroit, MI) had a team-high 10 rebounds to go along with six points.

The Wolverines shot 23-of-70 from the field, 10-of-32 from deep and 13-of-14 from the line. UM-Dearborn won the rebounding battle 54-30.
