DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's cross country team will be represented at the NAIA National Championship for the third consecutive season, as Ryan Exell will make his second trip to the event.
The UM-Dearborn sophomore was selected as an individual qualifier for the Wolverines for a second consecutive season after leading the team to the most successful campaign in program history. Exell finished third at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championship over the weekend, while the team finished in fifth, both setting new program bests for UM-Dearborn.
Exell also became the first UM-Dearborn men's cross country student-athlete to be named to the All-WHAC First Team. Exell qualified for the NAIA National Championship in 2018. He finished 200th out of 335 runners a year ago.
The NAIA National Championship will take place on Friday, Nov. 22 in Vancouver, Wash.
