WASHINGTON, Mich. — The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team earned a hard-fought 4-4 draw against Rochester Christian College on Wednesday afternoon, highlighted by a breakout performance from sophomore forward Michael Beskin-Diaz, who recorded the first hat trick of his collegiate career.
After falling behind early on a defensive miscue, the Wolverines drew level in the 27th minute when Beskin-Diaz struck from close range. Rochester regained the lead early in the second half, but Beskin-Diaz answered with two more unassisted goals in quick succession, giving UM-Dearborn a 3-2 advantage.
The hosts equalized in the 80th minute, only for Kaelan Wright to respond less than a minute later off a cross from Diego Beaman, putting the Wolverines back on top. However, Rochester's Ivan Stojanovic scored in the 84th minute to force the 4-4 final.
