Early goals pull Indiana Tech past UM-Dearborn

BRIGHTON, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team fell behind by a pair of goals in the first 11 minutes against Indiana Institute of Technology and could not recover in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest Wednesday at the Legacy Center in Brighton, Mich.

The Warriors got early goals from Oswaldo Segura Diaz and Roman Schindler, while tallies from Ruben Leonardo and Ethan Payne put Indiana Tch up 4-0 with 25 minutes to play. The Wolverines picked up a goal from Jacob Drzyzga (FR/Grosse Ile, MI) in the 68th minute to cut the Warrior lead to three, but the game ended in a 4-1 loss for UM-Dearborn.

The loss drops the Wolverines to 2-4 overall and 0-2 in the WHAC, while Indiana Tech improves to 8-0 and 2-0.

The Wolverines were outshot 19-5 with Drzyzga and Richard Hodnicki (JR/Southgate, MI) each recording two shots for the home team. In goal, Dylon Da Silva (SO/Canton, MI) recorded five saves and falls to 1-3 in goal this season.

UM-Dearborn hits the road for the first ime in conference play against Concordia University at 3 p.m. Saturday in Ann Arbor, Mich.
